ImiziLinks is a free community platform for people from East Africa who live in France or are about to move there. It brings together three services: mutual help between members for settling-in paperwork, job and internship offers passed on by partner companies, and community events. A blog rounds it off with practical guides on administrative procedures.
Anyone from East Africa — Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and neighbouring countries — who lives in France or is preparing to move there: students, young professionals, families, people changing careers. The community is also open to anyone who wants to help out without being concerned by settling in themselves.
Yes. Everything is free: help requests, being put in touch with a local contact, applying to the job offers we relay, taking part in events and reading the guides. ImiziLinks is run by volunteers and never charges its members.
Volunteer local contacts are active in Paris and the Île-de-France region, and in Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Lille, Toulouse and Nantes. If your city isn't on the list, write to us: we'll look for a contact in your area or point you to the nearest city.
Each need has its own form: the Support page for a help request, the Events page to sign up for a meet-up, the “Apply” button on the Opportunities page for a job offer, and the Join us page to become a local contact, contribute or ask a general question. No prior registration or membership fee is required.
Help requests receive a reply from a local contact within 48 working hours. Job applications are passed on to the partner company within 72 hours. Other messages are handled within a few days.
